Hidden gem in Tai Koo! Rare cuts of charcoal-grilled chicken/Chicken flower chicken white soup ramen/Specialty chicken cocktails.

IBURI

There is a hidden Japanese barbecue restaurant called “IBURI” near Quarry Bay Taikoo Place. It has just started its trial operation, offering a variety of grilled chicken skewers and meals. It is located at the corner of Hoi Lan Road and Sea Wall Street. The black-framed glass window design is complemented by sheer curtains, and there is a spacious outdoor area with green plants, creating an atmosphere similar to a Western-style Japanese restaurant in Japan’s commercial district.

IBURI

The restaurant is currently in the trial phase and is specially using locally sourced fresh three-yellow chicken for charcoal-grilled skewers. In addition to the fresh chicken meat, there are also several rare parts, including chicken throat, chicken diaphragm, and chicken comb. If you want to try multiple different parts at once, you can choose the 8 skewers for $528 or 12 skewers for $688, where the chef will select various fresh chicken meats for the day. In addition to the rare parts, there are also common styles such as chicken cartilage and chicken meat sticks.

There is also a must-try lantern ($98), known as a rare delicacy among skewers. It is actually the oviduct, ovary, and unhatched eggs of a hen, with each part connected together. You can taste the rich flavor of chicken eggs and meat. This part is rare and unique, so it is recommended to pre-order in advance.

In addition to yakitori, various chicken dishes are also carefully prepared. The “Rich Chicken White Soup Ramen” ($58) may seem simple but it takes a lot of time and effort to make. The soup base is simmered for ten hours using chicken bones and chicken feet. The topping that looks like wood ear fungus is actually thinly sliced dried chicken breast from Japan, accompanied by a soft-boiled egg and homemade crispy chicken skin. Every bite is filled with the rich and flavorful taste of chicken and different textures.

IBURI

“Oyako Don” ($58) uses a sauce made from three types of fish, creating a rich and layered flavor. It is served with a vibrant and creamy “Akatsuki” Japanese egg, which is mixed with chicken and rice, making it very satisfying.

There are many other options besides chicken, such as Miyazaki black beef, pork, grilled eel, etc. Choose a special cocktail, sake, or mocktail to add a touch of intoxication.
