Last Valentine’s Day, the newly opened trendy restaurant CulinArt 1862 in Causeway Bay launched a Western kaiseki set menu. Before sharing a meal with your loved one, you can also participate in an edible rose workshop!
Valentine’s Day evening set menu (HK$2,588 for two) includes five courses. The appetizer features scallop sashimi with sea urchin and apple puree, combining a savory and refreshing taste. The quail meat roll is served with winter black truffle slices and green bean salad, while the pasta dish, Boston lobster wonton, is enhanced with anchovy white sauce.
You can choose between two main courses, including roasted cod fillet with French-style seafood stew, full of freshness. Alternatively, you can choose grilled wagyu sirloin with potato foam and herb butter to balance the richness of the meat. For dessert, there is a rose lychee raspberry mousse and chocolate caramel pudding cake, or you can add HK$198 for a dessert painting. The restaurant also offers each table a rose and a box of handmade chocolates made by the restaurant’s pastry chef.
“Edible Rose Workshop” is taught by instructors from the Gas Cooking Center, where participants can handcraft a rose using beetroot. In addition to dinner, there is also a four-course Western-style kaiseki lunch set menu for Valentine’s Day ($1,688 for two), which includes scallop sashimi, Boston lobster wonton, a choice between grilled cod fillet or grilled wagyu sirloin as the main course, and a dessert called “Heart to Heart”.
