Central’s new coffee bar offers unlimited wine! Special char siu/crab spaghetti, homemade white fish potato balls/ice cream.

Morning coffee and evening wine are no longer a novelty. This new restaurant and coffee shop in Central, mato, takes it a step further with its innovative “coffee and wine fusion” concept, allowing customers to have a more personalized coffee and wine experience.

The team consists of experienced sommeliers and baristas who select coffee and wine based on the preferences and dining choices of the guests. The coffee uses beans from the renowned Danish brand April, while the wine list includes over 150 varieties. The sommeliers even have their own private collection of wines to share with guests.

Mato also introduces an all-you-can-taste wine experience ($350), where you can enjoy 6 selected wines within two hours. Each wine comes from different regions and vintages, offering unique flavors. The selection of 6 wines will change every month, allowing guests to try a variety of styles.

The food styles include snacks, pasta, and homemade gelato. The ingredients of the pasta are surprisingly matched. The “Char Siu” ($130) uses carbonara sauce as the base, accompanied by slow-cooked Japanese pork belly for 6 hours, with onsen egg and homemade crispy onion sesame sauce. The “Crab” ($210) angel hair pasta is tossed with Italian Alfredo sauce, paired with hand-pulled crab meat and crab roe miso, both pasta dishes have a Japanese flavor.

Another “beef” ($240) is made with a two-day boiled beef bone broth, cooked with red wine for 3 hours to make the beef ribs tender and flavorful.

There are also a variety of special snacks to accompany the wine. The “Rice Fish Potato Ball” ($75) is coated with rice fish and anchovies on the outside of the mashed potato ball, fried until crispy. There are also handmade black Angus meatballs, french fries, and other delicious snacks to enjoy with drinks. The homemade gelato comes in interesting flavors such as tomato, cheese, and coffee. The experience at this shop is more memorable and interesting than a typical café restaurant.
