Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine with a beautiful view at Tai Kwun! Indulge in our freshly made pistachio tiramisu / crispy fried veal cutlet.

The Italian restaurant Cantina, which opened not long ago in Tai Kwun, has a terrace that overlooks the entire Tai Kwun courtyard, with lush greenery and the historical architectural style of Tai Kwun, giving you a feeling of being in Italy!

The restaurant is actually located in the former colonial-era police headquarters canteen, hence the name Cantina, which means canteen in Italian. The restaurant aims to serve authentic Italian cuisine, with the Tiramisu (HK$118) available in original, pistachio, or hazelnut flavors, all prepared tableside.

First pour espresso onto the ladyfingers, then add mascarpone cream. If it’s pistachio or hazelnut flavor, it’s mascarpone already mixed with nut paste. Spread the cream evenly, then sprinkle with cocoa powder and crushed nuts. The tiramisu ladyfingers made instantly have the perfect moisture level, with a soft and smooth cream.

Don’t miss out on other authentic dishes, the Milanese fried veal (HK$478) is a generous 450 grams of veal cutlet, breaded and fried to a golden crisp, then sliced tableside with a large curved knife. For starters, the Tuna Crudo tuna sashimi (HK$188) is dressed with honey and kumquat sauce, sprinkled with chili flakes and almonds, full of Sicilian flavors.

Another Sicilian-style dish is the Red Prawn Linguine (HK$278), where the pasta is made only with egg whites, giving it a unique al dente texture. The pasta is cooked in a sauce made from red prawns and clams, accompanied by raw red prawns and creamy burrata, creating a rich and creamy flavor. For a crispy snack, you can choose the Fried Seafood Platter (HK$168), with fresh prawns, squid, and vegetable strips fried to a crispy perfection.

Recently, there have been many art exhibitions in Tai Kwun. After enjoying some authentic Italian cuisine, you can take a stroll, take photos, check in, and visit the exhibitions.
