Many people enjoy eating Thai food, and the newly opened branch of Café Siam in Quarry Bay not only offers authentic flavors, but also the interior of the restaurant is filled with the feeling of Thai local wooden houses!
Café Siam features both indoor and outdoor seating, with a decor of solid wood design complemented by green floor-to-ceiling doors, providing ample natural light and exuding a tropical vibe. The restaurant is helmed by Chef Johnny, a chef from the northeastern region of Thailand, so the dishes served here also focus on authentic Isaan cuisine.
Multiple dishes are made with authentic Thai spices, with a focus on the “Minced Pork Lettuce Wrap”, made with minced pork, chili, spring onions, basil, mint, and coriander, creating a rich and fragrant aroma, served with lettuce to soothe the spiciness. The “Spicy Grilled Beef Salad” features traditionally charcoal-grilled beef, with a crispy outer layer and tender meat, paired with mint, lime, chili, and more, offering a refreshing and non-greasy taste.
Grilled over traditional charcoal fire, the Eshan charcoal skewers offer a choice of chicken or pork. The “Garlic and Cilantro Curry Chicken Skewers” use chicken thigh meat marinated with a variety of seasonings, very flavorful. The “Thai Honey Pork Skewers” are marinated in coconut milk and then dipped in Thai honey sauce, making them tender and delicious. Signature dishes also include the appetizing “Green Papaya Salad”, the “Tom Yum Goong” with whole fresh prawns, and the “Three Yellow Chicken” marinated in yellow curry and Thai spices.
A must-try dessert is the “Mango Sticky Rice”, with a sweet taste and a chewy and soft texture, can be served with coconut ice cream. For drinks, there is the “Iced Thai Milk Tea”, as well as the cocktail “Mekhong Frozen Margarita”, made with Thai whiskey, Triple Sec, Cherry Brandy, lime, and orange juice, full of Southeast Asian flavors.
