If you like eating cake and pay attention to online stores, you must know about Hemma, which has been popular for its half-baked cheesecake. Cheesecakes were initially only sold in a few cafes and available for pre-order on IG, but due to the owner’s hands-on approach, the limited supply makes online orders very sought after! Flavors like original, matcha, hojicha, rum raisin, cookies & cream, lemon, etc., have received rave reviews from customers, some even calling it the “best in the world”!
The owner, overwhelmed and hoping to rest, decided to close the online store, which sparked a buying frenzy. The products were then sold at a small café, and now, Hemma finally has its own physical store. Recently, it officially opened in Sai Ying Pun, and on the first day of business, the cakes were sold out by early afternoon!
Just opened, the menu features cheesecakes in vanilla flavor (HK$52), lemon flavor (HK$62), and sesame flavor (HK$62), with sesame sprinkles on top for added flavor. Another popular dessert is the peanut chocolate sauce cookie sandwich (HK$38), also a signature dish at Hemma.
Apart from desserts, there are also plenty of savory options. The all-day menu is available from 9 am to 4 pm daily, with the Hemma Breakfast (HK$148) being the most abundant, featuring sourdough bread spread with tomato butter, along with potato crisps, sausages, scrambled eggs, salad, and more. Handmade pasta is served from 12 pm to 4 pm daily, with specialties such as Spicy Shrimp Pasta (HK$148), Squid Ink Pasta (HK$168), and Potato Gnocchi Pasta with tomato cream sauce (HK$158), each with its own unique characteristics.
In terms of beverages, there are hand drip coffee, the flavorful Hemma Soda, hand drip matcha, and even if the cakes are sold out, there are still plenty of options!
