At Wako Sake Labo in Tin Hau, you can experience a surprising combination of 12 Omakase dishes paired with The Glenlivet whisky.
This time, The Glenlivet’s new “Luxury Creation Vintage Series” The sample room collection is used, selecting whisky of 18, 21, and 25 years old respectively, bringing out the freshness of Japanese cuisine with different textures and flavors. The dining area is also transformed into an immersive laboratory, making one feel as if they are in the Glenlivet distillery in Scotland!
The main featured dishes include The Glenlivet 25-year-old single malt whisky paired with slow-cooked monkfish liver, which melts in the mouth, while the 18-year-old whisky is paired with grilled eel in sauce, enhancing the dish with the aroma of toffee in the wine, and the eel fat blends with the whisky.
As for the fruity and aromatic The Glenlivet 21 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, it is best enjoyed with seared sea bream sushi and seaweed sauce. The 21-year-old whisky can also be added to seared mentaiko rice for an even more pronounced freshness!
When it comes to the final part of the dessert, guests will wear blindfolds and listen to different types of music to savor The Sample Room series and homemade chocolate.
