The Sugar Factory Market has moved to a new location! The latest round of the Sugar Factory Market and new food trucks have just started! But please note that the market has changed its location and is no longer at the previous ground location at the end of Sugar Factory Street. The new location is at the 1st floor platform garden of Tak Hung Building, at the corner of King’s Road and Dehong Building, making it more convenient and self-contained!
The new food trucks this time include the famous bakery, Dominique Ansel, where you can enjoy their world-renowned breads in the eastern part of Hong Kong Island. In addition to their classic sweet and flaky bread series, the brand has also launched three exclusive dishes at the Sugar Factory Street Market. The “Curry Vegetarian Beef Butter Soft Bread Sandwich” ($58) is made with brioche bread in a long loaf shape, filled with sweet potato slices, slow-cooked Japanese curry onions, and vegetarian beef meatballs, creating a rich and sweet flavor.
“New Gui Heung Creamy Char Siu Soup with Rice Noodles” ($78) uses the famous 40-year-old Chai Wan brand, New Gui Heung Roast Meat, to make the succulent and tender char siu. It is freshly baked every day. “Chocolate Oatmeal Cookie Cup” ($48) is made with Oatside chocolate oatmeal milk and infused with cinnamon-flavored cookies, turning one of the brand’s most popular Instagrammable foods into a chocolate oatmeal version.
Another notable pop-up food truck during the same period is “Fisherman” from Fortress Hill. They specialize in using fish as the main ingredient to create a variety of innovative dishes, with many appetizers that are very appealing. The “Fried Fish without French Fries” ($35) is made by shaping fish meat into long strips and then deep-frying them until crispy. It has a texture similar to French fries but with the chewiness of fish meat.
“Fish Siu Mai” ($20/8 pieces, $12/4 pieces) comes in original, coriander, and tangerine peel flavors. “Fried Fish Hot Dog” ($28) is made by frying fish cakes until fragrant and then served with sauce and wood ear fungus, resulting in a rich and aromatic taste with every bite. After enjoying it on-site, you can also purchase the “Handmade Fish Chili Sauce” ($48) to bring home, which has a delicious and earthy fish flavor and is made by the shop itself. You can savor it slowly at home.
