While visiting the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at M+, you can also stop by the restaurant ADD+ in the building and try their new creative menu inspired by Kusama’s works. It will be available from today until May 14th.
The menu consists of three courses, including an appetizer called “Italian Buffalo Cheese.” It is made by injecting rich cream into mozzarella buffalo cheese, and served with arugula and cherry tomatoes for a refreshing appetizer. The dish is garnished with concentrated Italian balsamic vinegar and homemade beetroot garlic mayonnaise, creating a polka dot pattern that echoes the iconic artwork of Yayoi Kusama.
Yayoi Kusama’s another well-known creation theme, “pumpkin,” is transformed into the main dish “Pan-fried Scallop Spaghetti with Pumpkin Sauce.” The al dente spaghetti is paired with smooth pumpkin sauce and delicious scallops, sprinkled with black olive powder to add layers of flavor. There is also the “Spanish Pork Tenderloin” accompanied by baby cabbage and harissa sauce, and the finale dessert “Chocolate Pumpkin Cake.”
If you want to pair with food, there is a special drink called “Addictive”, made from concentrated coffee, perilla, cranberry juice, lemon, and soda water, refreshing and relieving greasiness. The cocktail “In-between” is made with vanilla ice cream accompanied by absinthe, Whispering Angel Rosé pink wine, and Lillet Blanc fortified wine, with a unique taste.
