Inside the Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel, there is a French bistro called SOMM, which follows a casual dining concept and is popular among many people for enjoying a meal and having a couple of drinks. Surprisingly, the restaurant also serves breakfast, starting from 7:30am daily, and the quality of the food is exceptionally high.
The restaurant is not large, but it offers a high level of privacy. If you’re not in a hurry, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The breakfast is priced at $318 per serving, which may sound a bit expensive, but considering that it is made by a six-star hotel, you can say that it’s a good deal for the price. The highlight is that the breakfast is not at all mediocre. You can choose between savory and sweet main dishes, along with a side dish, coffee, tea, or juice.
The main dish highly recommends butter Sabah Ong water-boiled eggs with crispy rice cakes. The crispy rice cakes are made by frying rice until it becomes like a pancake. The butter Sabah sauce has a bit of a Japanese flavor when eaten, and it is sprinkled with bonito flakes on top, which adds a pleasant surprise when eaten. Other main dishes include Belgian waffles with sausages, bacon, and maple syrup, and French toast with fresh strawberries and sour cream.
Not afraid to drink early in the morning? You can also upgrade to SOMM Bubbly breakfast for an additional $120. In addition to enjoying a glass of Nicolas Feuillatte NV Champagne, you can also choose a savory or sweet main dish, perfect for friends who want to try different things.
