Wan Chai French restaurant recommends savory afternoon tea! Japanese crab meat cola cake / matcha foie gras macaron / mini wagyu sandwich

Traditional afternoon tea is mainly focused on sweet treats, but if you prefer savory options, there are also many choices available, such as the “Joie-de-Vivre” afternoon tea offered for a limited time at BIFTECK in Wan Chai.

Afternoon tea is served in a simple wooden box, with seven savory items including “Sweet Shrimp and Salmon Roe with Japanese Tofu Pudding”, made with male tofu to create a rich and fragrant pudding, paired with sweet shrimp and salmon roe to highlight the freshness. “Japanese Crab Meat Croquette” incorporates Japanese crab meat into a French croquette, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

As for the “Matcha Foie Gras Macaron” and “Cheese Sakura Shrimp Pancake,” they are variations of classic desserts, with the former topped with citrus jelly and the latter sprinkled with cheese crumbs, served with truffle cream. Also available are homemade “Pickled Beetroot and Carrot Crispy Rolls,” “Mini Wagyu Burgers,” and “Mentaiko, Buffalo Cheese, and Shiso Tempura.”

There are 3 desserts, the “Citrus Sake Shaved Ice” served in a glass feels refreshing, while the “Strawberry Cheesecake” has a fresh fruity aroma, based on lemon cookies, the spherical strawberry cheesecake is coated with a layer of jelly. Finally, there is the “Chestnut Sansho Tart”, using seasonal chestnuts in autumn, with a hint of Japanese sansho pepper, bringing a subtle spiciness.
