Central’s new blue and white coastal Thai restaurant! Slow-cooked red curry wagyu cheeks, seasonal tropical fruit sorbet.

In Central’s Flower Market, a new blue and white coastal-style Thai restaurant has recently opened! The name of the restaurant, “Plaa,” actually means “fish” in Thai. The new restaurant’s walls are wavy in shape, decorated with sea blue terrazzo, echoing the modern Thai coastal cuisine that the restaurant specializes in. In addition, the restaurant is adorned with geometric line drawings by French artist Xavier Veilhan, creating a comfortable and elegant atmosphere.

The dishes are full of Southeast Asian flavors, recommended appetizer “Kanom Krok Coconut Rice Cake”, melts in the mouth, with 24-month aged Comté cheese inside, topped with wild mushrooms and black truffles, rich in aroma. The appetizer “Tom Kha Oyster with Coconut Ginger” incorporates frozen coconut ginger soup and mandarin orange oil, while “Larb Scallop with Salad” features Hokkaido scallops with coriander seeds, basil, mint, and fried rice, drizzled with yellow pepper seafood sauce, appetizing and spicy.

“Inspired by Thai boat noodles, the ‘Guai Tiao Ruea Charcoal Grilled Abalone with Boat Noodle Sauce’ replaces meat with tender abalone, adds rich abalone liver sauce, purple cabbage, and pickled shallots for a surprising flavor. For meat dishes, the ‘Neua Massaman Red Curry Beef Cheeks’ are slow-cooked for 24 hours until tender, then paired with special smoked red curry sauce, very flavorful.”

In terms of desserts, there are “I-Tim Sapparot Pineapple Ice Cream” with bee orange shaved ice, “Mamuang Hao Nanao Ho prickly yellow fruit snow puffs” with lychee and red dragon fruit and other seasonal tropical fruits, refreshing and cooling.
