PMQ Coffee Agenda

A cup of coffee for you, is it a daily ritual to wake up your spirit, a time to gather with friends, or just a sip of purity? Let’s go back to the beginning together and think about what the first sip of coffee meant to you! The Coffee Lifestyle Market “PMQ Coffee Agenda” is back in October, with a coffee experiment that responds to the present moment, exploring more possibilities of coffee with everyone, while reminiscing about the original intention of drinking coffee.

This year’s PMQ Coffee Agenda will feature 24 unique coffee shops, in-house coffee roasters, as well as food, lifestyle, and coffee equipment brands such as First Place Coffee, Five Elements Roasters, Ideaology, Mono Lab, Normally Closed, Studio Caffeine, Phoenix Coffee, Lot19, Radix Coffee, Stone Coffee, Stubborn Coffee Roaster, Middle Scone, MIDWAY shop, and more. Award-winning baristas and roasters, local coffee farmers, designers, and others will be invited to share the challenges and surprises discovered along the coffee journey and in the innovation process.

For coffee enthusiasts who have a pursuit, drinking coffee is not just for the purpose of staying awake or taking photos for social media. It is important to differentiate between different types of coffee beans, grinding techniques, the temperature for pour-over coffee, the ratio of coffee grounds… every detail is worth studying carefully! PMQ Coffee Agenda offers various workshops and sharing sessions to help everyone fully understand and appreciate coffee. For example, the “Science of Water” workshop breaks down the relationship between tap water, distilled water, mineral water, and different coffee flavors, allowing participants to taste different coffee flavors using 4 different pH levels of water and 2 specialty coffee beans. The “Coffee Masterclass – Brewing with Pour-Over” by experienced barista Chester Tam demonstrates the techniques of pour-over coffee and answers any questions participants may have during the process!

Most seasoned coffee enthusiasts have tasted coffee beans from Colombia, Brazil, Kenya, and other origins, but have you ever tried the taste of 100% locally produced coffee beans in Hong Kong? The “Hong Kong Coffee Bean Cupping Workshop” at “PMQ Coffee Agenda” allows everyone to witness the birth of “locally produced” coffee beans from the process of planting, harvesting, roasting, brewing, and taste the unique flavor of local coffee!

In addition to the taste of coffee itself, there is also a lot to learn about how to pair coffee with food. PMQ Coffee Agenda also brings “Limited-time Experimental Kitchen – Table for One”, featuring a variety of Hong Kong-style dishes with the theme of “sour, bitter, salty, sweet”, creating a “dining room for one”! The 4 dishes include “Hawthorn Preserved Plum Marinated Cherry Tomato, Fresh Chinese Yam, Salad”, “Shrimp Paste Stuffed Bitter Melon, Lotus Seed Chicken Broth”, “Scallion Oil Chicken, Golden Fried Rice Ball”, and “Caramel Sago Pudding, Red Bean”, with each dish paired with a designated coffee, allowing everyone to discover the different aspects of coffee and the creativity of food pairing!
