After a busy day, when you want to meet up with friends for a chat, the first thing that comes to mind is “izakaya”, especially for foodies who miss Japanese wine and food, they want to taste the unique flavor of this izakaya again! The modern izakaya hare 晴舍 has recently opened in Jordan, where you can enjoy Japanese skewers, Western food, sake, and even specialty boutique coffee!
Hare was founded by professional barista Reeves and sommelier Dennis, with a spacious izakaya space of over 4,000 square feet. The shop adopts a soft wood-tone Japanese design, coupled with large glass windows that bring in warm sunlight indoors, creating a comfortable atmosphere suitable for gathering with girlfriends or enjoying a leisurely drink with good friends.
The izakaya offers a selection of Japanese and Western cuisine, as well as seasonal fresh ingredients such as Satsuma chicken, Tokachi pork, eggs, and Koshihikari rice imported from Japan. With a custom-made yakitori grill from Japan, the food is infused with a unique charcoal aroma. In addition, there are appetizing sake accompaniments such as sake-steamed cheese, grilled devil fish fins, mirin-dried fish, chicken skin shrimp, Hiroshima oysters, white eels, a variety of seafood, wild vegetables such as king oyster mushrooms, okra, Japanese mini sweet potatoes, and golden diamond pineapples. They also offer a variety of dishes such as one-pot dishes and tempura.
In terms of beverages, Hare Qing She specializes in a variety of boutique coffees such as cold brew, ice drip, siphon, hand drip, and latte art coffee. The Japanese-style hand drip coffee from Matsuya is a must-try, using a high water column and steaming method with deep-roasted coffee beans to present a unique coffee flavor. Reeves also has its own bean roasting workshop, handling everything from purchasing green coffee beans to roasting, and roasting different coffee beans according to their characteristics to achieve the most suitable depth, brewing different coffee flavors.
If you feel like having a drink, you can try the rich wine collection at Hare House, with no less than twenty choices of sake alone! Sake sommelier Dennis also offers “Sake Flights,” pairing different dishes based on the 4 major characteristics of sake: aroma, crispness, richness, and maturity. In addition, local gin from an unnamed distillery is introduced, as well as local craft beers from Heroes, Carbon Brews, Tai Wai Beer, Young Master Brewery, and specialty cocktails made with coffee, sake, gin, and tea, bringing a refreshing new feel.
You can also find a variety of local tea options at hare 晴舍, such as the floral peony, honey orchid, and green teas from “瑜茶舍 yú teahouse,” as well as handmade cakes from the local tea house “Teakha,” including pandan snow fragrance cake, matcha cheesecake, and pineapple cheesecake. Dessert lovers and tea enthusiasts who enjoy incorporating tea into their meals may want to give them a try.
