Tsim Sha Tsui Thai Fusion Restaurant! Whole Curry Lobster/Variation of Tom Yum Soup/Outdoor Bar for Cocktails

There are many choices for eating Thai food in Hong Kong, but if you want to try something different, you can check out this Chinese-Thai fusion restaurant! Mue Mue recently opened in Tsim Sha Tsui, with a modern and stylish decor, as well as private VIP rooms. The dishes use seasonal ingredients and a variety of Chinese and Thai spices, reinterpreting classic Thai cuisine with Chinese cooking techniques.

Mue Mue offers a wide selection of appetizers, salads, skewers, soups, curries, main dishes, staple foods, and desserts. Let’s start with the appetizer “Thai Grilled Octopus,” where thinly sliced slow-cooked octopus is placed on a watermelon brick and drizzled with homemade tiger skin chili sauce, sweet with a hint of spice, very appetizing. Another must-try dish is the “Red Brick Tofu,” inspired by the red brick house at the Thai Chatuchak Weekend Market, made with natural beetroot juice for the batter, crispy outer layer enveloping tender tofu, topped with flavorful fried garlic and chili threads, offering a variety of textures.

In addition, the “Royal Thai Tom Yum” here is different from the traditional method, abandoning coconut milk, and adding various spices such as galangal, lemongrass, fish sauce to the shrimp and fish soup base, which is clear, sour, and spicy. The seafood ingredients in the soup are also quite rich, including tiger prawns, squid, mussels, etc., making the soup even more fresh and sweet. The “Royal Thai Curry Lobster” uses yellow curry with a variety of Southeast Asian spices, paired with whole Australian lobsters and Shanghai rice cakes. The lobster meat is thick and sweet, while the rice cakes have absorbed the aroma of the curry sauce, making it fragrant!

In addition to tasting unconventional Thai cuisine, you can also head to the outdoor bar Mue Bar to enjoy a variety of cocktails and have a light drink! One of the recommended drinks is the “Pineapple Punch”, which is based on Scotch whisky and Caribbean white rum, paired with coconut meat, Thai coconut water, pineapple juice, and lime, refreshing and sweet, and the pineapple-shaped glass adds a playful touch!
