Located in the Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Central, SOMM, a French-style bistro, is a best-kept secret in the hearts of many foodies. The breakfast, coffee, and bread at the restaurant are all delightful surprises.

The Chocolate Souffle is a must-try dessert for regular customers. Made with 85% Abinao dark chocolate, mixed with cocoa powder, egg whites, and milk, baked for 8 minutes and served immediately. The souffle’s height is enhanced by the air trapped inside, making it moist and fluffy with every bite.

And in the middle, there is a warm and melty lava chocolate filling, the texture and warmth of which definitely touch the taste buds. The taste of the dark chocolate is not too sweet, and you won’t feel overwhelmed even after eating the whole thing. Breakfast and lunch take an elegant and refined approach, without the old-fashioned buffet table. All food and dishes are served to the guests’ table, including a shared bread box, appetizers, a choice of main course, and a dessert. The homemade bread box regularly changes styles, including sourdough bread, olive and cherry tomato herb bread, croissant with French butter and jam, etc. The shared appetizers include king crab and perilla radish rolls, smoked Tasmanian salmon and crab roe tarts, etc.

The main course includes grilled quail with green peas, watercress, lemon, and Italian cheese; trout with white asparagus, topped with fruit tomato filling and French tarragon sauce. As for dessert, in addition to chocolate soufflé, there is also warm pancake with roasted walnuts, Okinawan syrup, and lime juice, which is a refreshing choice.

SOMMkind of Brunch is available on weekends or public holidays from 11am to 2:30pm. It is priced at $768 per person and includes 90 minutes of unlimited sparkling drinks, seasonal cocktails, fruit juice, coffee, and tea. For an additional $100, you can also enjoy unlimited selected champagne, sake, white wine, and red wine.
