Located in the front courtyard of the Hong Kong Miramar Hotel and listed in the Hong Kong Ancient Tree Registry, the deciduous tree with fruit of the Chinese scholar tree blooms with pink and white flowers every year from April to May. To celebrate the annual flowering of the Chinese scholar tree, the hotel is offering the “Dancing Romance” afternoon tea this year, where guests can enjoy delicious treats and admire the charming scenery at the tranquil Garden Lounge.
The tea set is inspired by the Judas tree, incorporating various spring fruits and pink ingredients. The savory items include “Spicy Lobster Shrimp Bun with Chives and Lemon,” with tender shrimp seasoned with Korean-style spicy egg yolk sauce, served with soft pink mini sesame bread. There are also “Salmon Chives Cream Cheese Roll with Salmon Roe” and “Refreshing Crab Lemongrass Tart,” among others.
There are desserts such as the “White Peach Honey and Raspberry Cream Tart” with a rich fruity aroma, the “Ruby Chocolate Truffle” which is a variation of the classic chocolate truffle, and the “Cherry Blossom Strawberry Jam Swiss Roll” that emits a floral fragrance. Additionally, there are cranberry scones and orange blossom scones served with strawberry jam, lemon curd, or clotted cream.
