Deeply loved by hipsters and café enthusiasts, Good Good, which closed its Sheung Wan store last year, was a great loss. The good news is that this year, the original team has reopened under a new brand called Parabolica in Repulse Bay. The new brand will first debut as a bakery, with plans to open a café with seating in the coming months.
The bakery is located in the picturesque Yingwan Garden, facing the seaside and with a spacious and airy atmosphere. As you enter the store, the bakery workshop is on the right, where you can see several pastry chefs focused on making bread and cakes.
On the other side is a display case for cakes, desserts, and bread, with basic styles such as croissants, chocolate croissants, and milk toast, as well as various unique creations like Financier ($32/piece) in different flavors such as apricot, smoked cheddar cheese, white miso, and pistachio honey.
Matcha Red Bean Mochi Pound Cake ($58) is rich in layers, while The Very Hungry Caterpillar ($52) is a long rectangular bread filled with either red bean matcha or caramel custard. There is also a savory round bread called Parabolica ($45), which includes ingredients such as Italian cucumber, pumpkin, and mushrooms.
There are desserts such as fig and cheese tart, strawberry sponge cake, cookies, etc., as well as pre-order options for whole cakes. The bakery also offers takeaway coffee and various beverages for customers to purchase and enjoy in the courtyard of Ying Wan Garden.
