“Boss” AK Kong recently collaborated with his brother to open a dessert shop called “Setsugekka” in Tai Kok Tsui! The shop has a Japanese-style theme, with Japanese-style window frames on the walls. There is also a spacious and airy interior where customers can sit on traditional tatami mats and enjoy tea and desserts with a Japanese atmosphere.
The dessert shop is run by the former pastry chef of Four Seasons Hotel, offering a variety of Japanese desserts, Japanese-style shaved ice, and three special desserts inspired by famous attractions in Kyoto: “Watariyue,” “Arashiyama,” and “Kiyomizu.” Only 30 portions are available daily. Among them, “Watariyue” is a lemon yuzu matcha mousse almond cake, with a specially prepared sweet and sour lemon yuzu sauce, matcha mousse, and a sake-flavored jelly sauce on the plate. It has a rich layering and a cute cat “headband” decoration for Instagram-worthy photos!
“NEKO Sesame Shaved Ice” takes inspiration from AK’s beloved cat “Sesame”. The sesame sauce is made from ground black sesame, and the shaved ice contains tofu-flavored ice cream and homemade chocolate sesame crisps. The texture of the shaved ice is smooth and creamy, with a rich black sesame flavor. “Mango Matcha Fresh Milk” combines fresh mango puree, mango syrup, Japanese milk, and a creamy matcha milk cap, creating a delightful blend of fruity and tea flavors.
If you like matcha desserts, you can try the “Custom Tea and Wagashi Sweet Set”. The dessert served on a wooden tray includes mini matcha crispy parfait, matcha ice cream with Tokachi red beans, wagashi, and warabi mochi. You can choose one type of tea, including jasmine pearls, milk oolong, Japanese sencha, and white peony tea. There is also a drink called “Dirty Matcha” with a warm and rich feathered matcha milk cap on top and frozen Japanese milk at the bottom.
Customers who donate to “志永儍瓜儍狗特工隊基地” (Zhiyong Foolish Melon and Foolish Dog Special Forces Base), “沙律貓狗之家” (Salad Cat and Dog Home), and Tiffany’s Community Bakery Limited, within the first two weeks of the new store opening, and show the donation record when purchasing “雪月花” (Snow Moon Flower), can enjoy a 10% discount on the entire bill for dine-in or takeaway cakes.
