Baan Phadthai, which comes from Bangkok and has been recommended by the Michelin Guide Thailand for five consecutive years, recently opened its first branch in Hang Hau, Hong Kong. The restaurant is helmed by a Thai chef and specializes in authentic Thai cuisine at affordable prices. For friends in Hang Hau who love Thai food, you don’t have to travel all the way to Kowloon City to enjoy it!

Baan translates to “house” in Thai, and it specializes in Phadthai, which is stir-fried rice noodles. The restaurant itself is already quite popular in Thailand. The first overseas branch opened in Taipei last year at the APM food court in Kwun Tong. This year, the first branch in Hong Kong officially opened. The original Thai branch is known for its signature blue door, and the new branch in Hong Kong follows the same blue color scheme and is designed to be a relaxed dining environment.

As the name suggests, the signature dish is Thai-style stir-fried Pad Thai. It is cooked with 18 secret seasoning ingredients, using selected high-quality “Sen Jan” rice noodles from Thailand. The noodles are fragrant and chewy, creating a delightful texture. The restaurant offers a total of five Phadthai options, with a highly recommended Soft Shell Crab Pad Thai ($128) that is fragrant, spicy, sour, and sweet, making it very flavorful. It is served with a whole crispy fried soft shell crab, which is aromatic and delicious.

Large boneless Hainanese chicken rice ($88) The chicken is cooked tender and smooth, while the Thai-style oily rice is cooked soft and fluffy, without being greasy, and filled with the aroma of spices.

The recommended spicy fried meatballs ($68) are a delicious snack with a rich Northeastern flavor. The pork meatballs are made with a variety of spices, fried until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are served with a tangy and spicy appetizing raspberry sauce that makes it irresistible to eat one after another.

Other Thai delicacies such as Yellow Curry Prawns ($168), Tom Yum Soup ($138 per pot), Grilled Pork Neck Salad ($88), and everyone’s favorite Mango Sticky Rice ($58) are all made authentically delicious and reasonably priced. Coupled with a comfortable environment, it is a great choice in the area!
