Bakehouse has just launched a series of new Christmas bread products, with both filled and cute styles. There are a total of 8 styles. Let’s now break down each one and see what flavors they are!
Chestnut Caramel Bread ($42) is a round and plump winter pastry with a crispy outer layer sprinkled with roasted hazelnuts and sea salt caramel sauce. When you tear it open, the bread has a very soft texture, and it is filled with creamy chestnut cream that bursts with flavor in every bite, providing a smooth and crunchy texture. Gingerbread Man ($22) is a sourdough pastry infused with gingerbread spices, with distinct layers of flaky pastry. The outer layer is coated with crystallized sugar grains, adding a crispy texture.
Black Forest Danish Pastry ($52, Causeway Bay store exclusive) incorporates elements of traditional Black Forest cake into a flaky pastry. It features a black cherry filling and vanilla mascarpone cheese on top of the Danish pastry, sprinkled with chocolate crumbs and garnished with a plump black cherry. The combination of sweet fruity flavors and smooth cheese cream creates a delightful and indulgent treat.
Mini banana round cake ($38) is made into a small round shape, with a bottom layer coated with dark chocolate sauce, and a top layer of sea salt caramel sauce and crushed walnut pieces. The cake has a soft and moist texture, and the taste is excellent.
Sourdough Mixed Fruit Pie ($28) is a traditional British festive dessert made with Bakehouse’s most popular sourdough pastry as the base, filled with a generous amount of dried fruit filling, including raisins, apples, and pear chunks soaked in mulled wine. Apple Pie Cookie ($20) has apple, cinnamon, and clove filling inside the cookie, giving each bite a taste of apple festival flavor.
Sourdough Italian fruit bread ($258/whole) originated from Milan’s Italian sweet bread, which is always present on the dining table during Christmas. Bakehouse adds sourdough to create a more layered flavor, with brandy-soaked raisins and fruit peel inside the bread.
King’s Cake ($388, available from December 27th), a traditional French pastry made with layers of puff pastry wrapped around almond cream filling, and hidden inside is a small porcelain figurine. Whoever finds it while eating the cake is considered lucky. Bakehouse will also include a piglet porcelain figurine with this King’s Cake, allowing guests to collect it after cutting the cake. This dessert feast is also a little treasure hunt game.
