In the Central and Sheung Wan area, there are many unique coffee shops, and Hjem Café’s decor follows a Nordic style, with simple furnishings and wooden furniture, creating a cozy atmosphere. The food at the café also focuses on Nordic flavors, with a wide selection of dishes.
There are many bread-based dishes for brunch, such as the signature Danish open-faced sandwich, with choices including smoked salmon, homemade roast beef, and herring curry. The crab meat toast is spread with crab salad on top of a crispy thick slice of bread, bringing a rich and flavorful taste.
The salmon and shrimp burger is made with salmon patty, Arctic shrimp salad, pickles, and served with a soft French bun. The snack platter features blueberry-cured salmon, with each slice of salmon edged in purple-blue, accompanied by rye bread, dill, French cream, red onions, capers, and more.
There is also a two-person afternoon tea set, with a variety of light snacks on the English three-tiered stand, including Danish open-faced sandwiches with shrimp and slow-cooked pork belly, mini cinnamon rolls, heart-shaped traditional Norwegian waffles with jam, and more, paired with selected teas from the Nordic brand PLŪKT.
The café also has a new cocktail menu, including Lingonberry & Chocolate Espresso Martini, Swedish Mule, Brown Cheese Old Fashioned, and some cocktails can be enjoyed during the “Hygge Hour” from Tuesday to Friday 3pm-6pm!
