There are many Italian restaurants in Hong Kong, and Testina in Central has a nostalgic touch, with its decor featuring vibrant mustard yellow as the main color, complemented by olive green furniture and mosaic floors made of terrazzo, reminiscent of a 1970s Italian trattoria!
The restaurant recently introduced a series of new summer dishes. The appetizer “Cucumber and Peach Salad” combines Carosello cucumbers with roasted Italian peaches and anchovies, while the “Fig with Soft Cheese and Italian Black Pig Back Fat” is served with thinly sliced Italian black pig back fat, creamy buffalo cheese, and enhanced with balsamic vinegar.
The main course includes “Italian Beef Tata”, combining premium Fassona beef from Italy with pickled beans, marinated egg yolk, and Italian chicory. The “Garlic Chili Olive Oil Cooked Baby Octopus” uses fresh baby octopus from the Mediterranean, paired with garlic, chili, and olive oil for a fresh taste. Another main course, “Pollo alla Diavola”, translates directly to “Chicken from Hell” and follows the traditional Italian spicy chicken recipe, with the roasted chicken completely covered in chili powder, served with a Peperonata salad made from roasted sweet peppers, onions, and olives.
The signature dessert “Crostatina Fruit Tart” is made with seasonal cherries marinated in Italian white Grappa, paired with soft cheese and crispy tart crust, creating a surprising taste.
