This soft-toned new café is located across from the Rainbow Road East Estate in San Po Kong. The owners have named the café Roommate, hoping to create a space in this neighborhood where nearby residents and customers from other areas can gather together, and even turn strangers into friends.
The coffee shop is located in a corner position, with a spacious interior. There are semi-height gauze curtains on both sides of the glass windows, giving off a touch of Japanese and artistic atmosphere. The floor and walls inside the shop are in earthy tones and soft pink, with ample natural light. Facing the tree shadows outside the window, the view is comfortable and the atmosphere is very calm.
The menu includes pasta, all-day breakfast, and other savory dishes. One of the owners used to work as a chef in a hotel. The “Traditional Carbonara Pasta” ($88) is made with Japanese eggs for a special creamy texture. The “Basil Tomato Sauce Handmade Potato Balls” ($78) are pasta balls made with potatoes, which have a soft and chewy texture. They are handmade and limited in quantity, with an option to add handmade corn soup for an additional $12 during lunch hours. The soup is homemade and has a natural sweet flavor.
甜品有「巴斯克芝士蛋糕」($48)备有浓郁奶香的芝士蛋糕质感很软滑流心,而甜度恰好,「法式香蕉玛德莲」($32/两件),外层黄金香脆而内里松软,甜味浓郁。
