Café SOL Committee, which offers a view of the beach and the bridge in Ma Wan, has long been a popular spot. In February, they opened a branch called SOL Mate Club in Cheung Sha Wan, right next to a basketball court. To connect with the community, they collected old basketball decorations from the neighborhood in Ma Wan to decorate the new store.
The new store has limited seating inside, but there are many seats outside the door, even with chairs placed along the basketball court fence. Customers can freely enjoy coffee or take photos outside the store and experience the relaxed atmosphere of the neighborhood basketball court.
Food-wise, Taco and Nacho are available, and the filling styles of Taco are quite unique. Cheese lovers will be delighted with the “Honey Five Cheese” ($38), which combines Parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella, mascarpone, and pecorino cheeses together. The texture is soft and creamy, and a touch of honey adds extra fragrance.
Another signature filling is “homemade crispy shrimp cake” ($28), with tender shrimp meat, a slightly salty taste, and a crispy outer layer. Other fillings include Mexican sweet pepper stuffed meatballs, mentaiko tamago, and lemongrass coconut chicken thigh meat.
There are also daily different flavors of cakes, including “Pistachio Basque Cake” ($60), which has a pistachio flavor that is not too sweet, with a soft and satisfying texture, as well as flavors like orange liqueur chocolate and Earl Grey tea.
In addition to coffee, there are also latte drinks with tea flavors as the main ingredient, including jasmine tea latte and deep-roasted oolong latte. There are also various house-made sodas, such as ginger turmeric red tea ginger soda and lemon iron goddess of mercy lime soda. It would be very refreshing to have a drink after playing a basketball game nearby.
