Sham Shui Po’s super delicious creative takoyaki! One bite with beef/each grain with mentaiko/spicy and sour winter melon soup

by

Discover a creative takoyaki shop in Sham Shui Po! The filling is not just octopus, but also beef cubes? This small shop called “Yuen Shiu” has branches in West Kowloon Centre and Fuk Wah Street. They sell Kanto-style takoyaki, which is cooked until the surface is crispy. The staff is very skilled in cooking, making it even more enjoyable to eat.

The taste of takoyaki is also full of creativity. The boss actually came up with the idea of using beef cubes instead of octopus to make a beef takoyaki ($26 / 4 pieces). Takoyaki with whole beef cubes inside, a must-try for meat lovers.

Highly recommended is the Prince Charming Burnt ( $33), not just drizzled with mentaiko sauce, but also filled with mentaiko bits. It is refreshing and satisfying to eat, with a delightful texture.

I like to eat spicy and exciting food, so I have to try the Tom Yum Gong octopus balls ($39). The owner specially made the octopus ball batter taste like Tom Yum Gong, with a strong sour and spicy flavor, and a hint of lemongrass fragrance. The filling is made with fresh shrimp and clams, which adds a delicious taste. It turns out that making Tom Yum Gong into octopus balls works just as well!

In addition to takoyaki, the small shop also sells okonomiyaki, as well as Japanese set meals, snacks, etc. During the holidays, it opens in Sham Shui Po, Wong Kam, and Duck Kee. It’s perfect for satisfying your cravings!
