Is it a restaurant or an art gallery? This two-story high restaurant Monmono in Central is designed in full yellow from the outside to the inside. Stepping into the store gives a surreal feeling, with tables, walls, stairs, lighting, napkins, etc., all in shades of yellow! The restaurant also resembles an art gallery, inviting local artist VenusPhilosophy to create a series of yellow-themed paintings, placing the characters from the artist’s paintings in different corners, adding vitality.
Monmono focuses on Western-style fine dining, offering different set menus for lunch and dinner. Prices are as follows: three-course lunch (HK$480/person), four-course lunch (HK$580/person), six-course dinner (HK$1080/person), eight-course dinner (HK$1380/person). The dishes are beautifully presented, with thoughtful ingredient pairings.
Steamed egg custard with pork broth, perfectly balanced in flavor, slow-cooked grouper with bamboo shoot puree, adding layers of flavor and a smooth texture, as well as a main course featuring Australian wagyu beef cheek.
Desserts are made with seasonal oranges as the main ingredient, bringing a fresh and sweet taste to the end. If you just want to drink cocktails, there are also many choices. The bar is also decorated in all yellow, interesting decor, come for a meal or happy hour, appreciate the art paintings and take photos, it’s a nice experience.
