Do you remember the Prince’s Bagel Seller? The burgers with large portions, unique ingredients, and names, along with the famous fries and tornado toast, were all specialties of that shop! The Prince shop closed down over a year ago, but it turns out they have just reopened in To Kwa Wan, now renamed as Cutting Onions. The youthful icon of the bagel seller has now transformed into the appearance of an “uncle”!
The menu still carries the playful spirit of the old shop, with the most popular “Signature Handmade Beef Burger with Fries” (HK$148), topped with melted Gouda cheese covering juicy beef, along with two fried onion rings, a generous portion. Other interesting flavors include “Thai-style Tom Yum Sour and Spicy Taro Crab Cake”, “Preserved Vegetable and Sour Ginger Pork Belly Bun”, “Spicy Kimchi Tofu Bun”.
The most popular snack is french fries, the “Thick Onion Juice Cheese Fries” (HK$56) is not your typical cheese sauce, but instead uses feta cheese and sprinkled with spring onions, giving it a taste similar to onion sour cream without making the fries soggy. The onion juice can be served on the side to maintain the crispiness of the fries. Other snacks that are tempting just by their names include “Kung Lok Chicken” and “Grandma’s Chicken Wings 2.0 – Grandma’s Chicken Wings”.
Finally, try the dessert. The old shop’s “Torres Leite” continues to be available, and there is also “Gweilo Leite 4.0” (HK$66). The thick bread is fried to a golden crisp, filled with egg custard without being too greasy, topped with jam and a large amount of mixed berries, served with a scoop of lemon sorbet, tasting somewhat like Swiss sugar!
In addition, the restaurant also offers pasta and other interesting dishes, making it the perfect place to go with a large group of friends!
