Bringing together craftsmanship, Spanish charm, and the interactive journey behind the workshop! Loewe’s first large-scale exhibition “Crafted World” debuts in Shanghai.

With a history of 178 years, Loewe, which started with leather, has always pursued exquisite craftsmanship and leather-making techniques. Recently, a large exhibition titled “Crafted World” was held in Shanghai, focusing on the brand’s rich history, Spanish cultural traditions, and the spirit of promoting craftsmanship. It is like an interactive journey through time, space, materials, and production techniques, leading the audience to experience Loewe’s world of craftsmanship.

This exhibition is curated by Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, with the theme of “paying tribute to craftsmen dedicated to craftsmanship worldwide” and the concept conceived by Loewe and the renowned architecture and urban design firm OMA. Spanning over 1,600 square meters, the exhibition is divided into six chapters: “Born from the Hand,” “Welcome to Spain,” “The Atelier,” “Fashion Without Limits,” “United in Craft,” and “Unexpected Dialogues,” showcasing the brand’s 178 years of creative and craft innovation history, the colors and styles of Spain, as well as the behind-the-scenes of the production workshops and the intricate processes of making fashion products.

The venue design also allows the audience to feel like they are in a fashion show, where they can closely admire Jonathan Anderson’s fashion design styles since taking office, and showcase the brand’s enthusiasm for supporting craft development around the world from a multimedia perspective; there are also nine interactive exhibition halls in the venue, full of surprises: including giant leather sculptures, a “pronunciation tunnel” that teaches how to correctly pronounce “LO-EV-EH”, interactive exhibits for children, and a moving suspended garden in the mirror hall, showcasing the brand’s avant-garde fashion and craft culture.

The “Crafted World” exhibition is free to enter, open to the public, and will be held from March 22, 2024 to May 5, followed by an international tour overseas.
