2021 Watches and Wonders Geneva “Watch and Miracle Geneva Fine Watch Exhibition” officially kicked off today. Although it has been changed to an online watch exhibition due to the epidemic, major participating brands are making great efforts to showcase their new watches. Among them, CHANEL has announced the J12 new Electro limited series, which is set with rainbow gemstones. Inspired by electronic music culture, the beats and dynamics of electronic music are concretized through different shades of blue sapphire, integrating the iconic ceramic material of J12, bringing 4 new high-end wristwatches, becoming the focus of this year.
CHANEL watch creative studio director Arnaud Chastaingt described this creation as “like arranging a setlist for a performance, interpreting different classic watches with visual elements of electronic music, and drawing inspiration from the world of electronic music.” The 4 models in the J12 Electro series include: J12 Electro Dream in black and white, J12 Electro Star, J12 X-Ray Electro Calibre 3.1, and the heavyweight J12 Electro Box, all adorned with rainbow-like gemstones, making them highly collectible!
J12 Electro Dream comes in classic black and white scratch-resistant precision ceramic styles, with 12 colors of sapphires set on the bezel, creating a complete circular color gradient effect. The dial is set with 12 long trapezoid-cut hour markers, which complement the color arrangement of the bezel.
J12 Electro Star set with long stepped cut diamonds, the most eye-catching is the color gradient sapphire on the side of the strap, surrounding the wrist, as if wearing a rainbow added to the wrist. The watch is equipped with a black Calibre 12.1 self-winding mechanical movement, with the automatic rotor also set with a circle of colorful gradient sapphires.
J12 X-Ray equipped with Calibre 3.1 manual winding skeletonized in-house movement, adorned with 12 long trapezoid-cut colored sapphire hour markers, the diamonds originally set on the bezel are replaced by 58 sapphires in spectrum colors, the transparent dial and the color-changing hour markers complement each other. This series is limited to 12 pieces, each watch has its own unique number.
The most eye-catching must be the J12 Electro Box, with 12 J12 watches arranged like a painting in a black lacquered box. The J12 Electro Box is like a carefully curated electronic music performance, pulsating with the rhythm composed of the changing colors of the 12 watches, harmoniously playing together to create a unique and extraordinary masterpiece.
