Finally survived the long work week and welcomed a consecutive number of days of Easter holidays! During the holidays, besides enjoying eating, drinking, playing, and resting, you might as well take the opportunity to appreciate several ongoing exhibitions! Here are 4 recommended exhibitions of different types for those of you who have not yet planned your holiday activities!
//Popular Japanese illustrator GOTTE’s first overseas illustration exhibition “Daily Life of Roku”//
For those of you who love watching healing small animals, I believe you have noticed the popular Japanese illustrator GOTTE’s pet “Kokurase Asshuroku”. With over 300,000 IG fans, it recently appeared at Harbour City Art Museum!
GOTTE brings the first overseas original artwork exhibition “Daily Life of Churro”, displaying a total of 45 pieces of Churro’s artwork. The daily life of this cute little hamster is as colorful as people’s lives! On workdays, Churro will quickly grab a piece of toast and rush out the door, while on leisure days, he loves to stay at home playing on his phone, watching movies, and even becomes a “foodie”, searching for delicious food everywhere!
It is worth mentioning that GOTTE has specially created a new “Discovering Hong Kong with Luk” series for this exhibition, allowing Luk to see neon lights for the first time in Hong Kong, take selfies at the Peak, ride sightseeing buses, and more. The itinerary is very rich! Everyone is welcome to appreciate these cute and healing scenes up close at the exhibition!

// Leslie Cheung 18th Anniversary Exhibition “The Wind Continues to Blow” //
In the blink of an eye, it has been 18 years since the passing of my brother Leslie Cheung, but time has not diminished everyone’s longing for him. In addition to the online concert “Thinking of You Leslie Cheung” held on April 1st, the memorial exhibition “The Wind Continues to Blow” has also arrived.
“The Wind Continues to Blow” commemorative exhibition, curated by Wind Of Leslie in honor of Leslie Cheung, continues to cherish the memories of Leslie Cheung. He encountered Leslie Cheung in his childhood, which led him to fall in love with art and writing. This exhibition will bring a series of collections and illustrations, reminiscing the memories left by the elder brother. The wind continues to blow, just like the memories that Leslie Cheung brought to us, eternal and never-ending. Let us recall this figure that we cannot bear to be far away from through the exhibition.

//Ivana Wong’s “The Pink Room Experience Art Exhibition”//
Waa Wei recently released a new song “The Pink Room” and held a solo exhibition titled “The Pink Room Experience Art Exhibition” to combine music and art, interpreting and exchanging ideas on today’s label culture through different sensory experiences with everyone.
Just like Ivana mentioned in the lyrics: “If you tear open the window of prejudice, there are more perspectives on the main road/ Labels are always convenient/ But its true meaning is to look inwardly,” “labels” are everywhere. For the sake of convenience and habit in daily life, many people and things are invisibly labeled, limiting their own value and leading to a tendency towards a singular perspective on things.
The exhibition brings many art installations related to the theme, including neon signs with various adjectives, a mirror that allows visitors to reflect on their self-image, and light and shadow art photography, attempting to explore the essence behind each “label,” change perspectives, and open up more possibilities. The exhibition also collaborates with the local coffee brand ZUCO Coffee Roasters to create a “Proud” “Label Coffee,” allowing everyone to taste the “label” through taste and smell.

//Female photographers joint exhibition “Women Gaze”//
Kayee C, Liu Wei, Anat Givon, and Catherine Henriette, four female photographers, held an artist joint exhibition “Women Gaze” at La Galerie – Paris 1839, gazing at gender roles from a female perspective, while expressing their views on social culture.
Hong Kong artist Kayee C’s work is full of storytelling, with “The Taking of All of Us” reflecting how women, under the public eye, are bound by standards of “beauty” to maintain their self-image.
Local artist Liu Weizhe analyzes gender roles from the perspectives of history, film, and popular culture. In the work “Profile Picture,” anime characters are overlaid on blurred portraits, while in “The Memories of Tomorrow,” shadows of the classic film “Yellow Suzie’s World” can be found, placing “Eastern women” in various bizarre scenes to explore personal identity and belonging.
Additionally, there are works by Anat Givon documenting the handover of Hong Kong’s sovereignty, using digital image editing and collage techniques to create surreal effects. Catherine Henriette focuses on the urban changes in China over the past 30 years, highlighting the unique atmosphere worth savoring.
