The AI trend is sweeping the globe, bringing creative inspiration to many creators. In addition, there are even more foreign arts and cultural organizations trying to incorporate artificial intelligence technology into their promotional plans, in order to increase the topicality and dissemination of their projects. Recently, the Vienna Tourist Board adopted the AI drawing tool Midjourney to recreate famous paintings and local landmarks, sparking a heated discussion among netizens.
The Vienna Tourist Board has cleverly adopted the “like if you have a cat” strategy and incorporated adorable “furry friends” into their works, generating 7 interesting images using AI! These include: famous symbolist painter Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss” and “Beethoven Frieze” (partial), Austrian artist Egon Schiele’s “Self-Portrait with Chinese Lantern Plant,” and Pieter Brueghel the Elder’s “The Tower of Babel.”
In addition, they have selected three local famous cultural and artistic attractions and added cats to the places. Whether it’s the Vienna City Museum, the Vienna Secession Exhibition Hall, or the Hundertwasserhaus, they are all fully occupied by cats.

In addition to using these images for promotion, the Vienna Tourist Board specifically invited renowned art historian Markus Hübl to shoot a promotional video, allowing viewers to appreciate the recreated attractions and famous paintings in this project. Watching the expert share these parody artworks with a serious expression successfully attracted more viewers.
Vienna Tourism Bureau sparked a discussion on the internet through this AI-generated image, but some people criticize the authorities for spending money on AI creations instead of investing more resources in real artists. I wonder what your thoughts are on this?
