Showcasing the value of mechanical watchmaking with extreme craftsmanship, the new Swiss Alp watch from H.Moser & Cie. writes the ultimate chapter.

After five years, independent high-end watchmaking expert H. Moser & Cie. iconic series Swiss Alp finally ushered in the ultimate chapter, recently officially launched the new work of 2021, using the concept of ultimate upgrade to write “Last Edition”.

The Swiss Alp 2021 edition named Last Edition by Moser abandons the designs of previous generations and upgrades the new work with the recent minimalist trend. The dial is made in the extremely dark VantaBlack color, showcasing Moser’s proud dial craftsmanship. The stick-shaped hour markers, hour disc markers, and the brand’s “H.Moser & Cie” logo have also been removed by the watchmakers, pushing the minimalist design to the extreme.

The introduction of the Swiss Alp Watch, according to brand CEO Edouard Meylan, is a response to the advanced watchmaking craftsmanship of Moser over the past two centuries to the current smart generation, highlighting the unique value that mechanical watchmaking cannot replace, and demonstrating Moser’s commitment to the craft of mechanical watchmaking. Therefore, in this final chapter of the myth, inspired by customers who share the same beliefs, Moser has added interesting designs to the new work: the “loading” symbol and screen from popular smart phones have been made into a small seconds dial at the six o’clock position. With twelve stick-shaped hollowed-out scales, combined with the off-center small seconds hand on the dial base, as it moves every second, the shadow disc rotates like a calculation, creating a design that generates both anxiety and impatience while training patience. This not only evokes the passage of time but also writes a powerful ending for the Swiss Alp series under Moser’s “black humor.”

The new collection is made entirely of black DLC-coated stainless steel, with a 38.2 x 44.0 mm case featuring sapphire crystal on both the front and back, paired with Moser’s in-house HMC 324 movement. The Moser original Straumann Hairspring and gold escapement system provide a minimum power reserve of 96 hours, allowing the new collection to truly capture every moment without the need for charging.

The minimalist yet luxurious style is the core idea of Moser craftsmanship, so the latest Swiss Alp Watch Final Edition continues to use a crocodile leather strap, but now in a sleek black VantaBlack leather. In terms of pricing, the Swiss Alp Watch Final Edition is priced at HKD $238,000, with only 50 pieces available.
