Rosewood Hong Kong welcomes the Lunar New Year this season with a series of celebrations inspired by the classic novel “Blooming Flowers” by Jin Yucheng. Drawing from the urban scenes of Shanghai from the 1960s to the 1990s, the hotel has meticulously designed festive gifts, dining experiences, and holiday activities that allow guests to not only feel the spirit of the New Year but also enjoy a rich cultural and culinary experience.

The hotel’s online store has carefully prepared a variety of Lunar New Year gifts for guests, making them perfect for personal use or giving away. The rice cake series includes scallop radish cake (HKD $328) and coconut milk rice cake (HKD $318), each available in different weights. There is also the magnificent Lunar New Year gift box (HKD $598), which contains eight types of traditional candies and snacks, such as red melon seeds and black melon seeds, adding a sweet taste to the festivities. In addition, the hotel has launched three uniquely designed festive gift baskets: the Joyous New Year Gift Basket (HKD $2,488), the Abundant New Year Gift Basket (HKD $3,588), and the Everlasting New Year Gift Basket (HKD $9,988). Each basket is meticulously curated to meet the needs of different guests.

For guests who appreciate limited-edition luxury items, the Rosewood Hotel has launched the “Radiant New Year” limited-edition gift box (HKD $1,588). The box contains not only traditional New Year delicacies but also red envelopes designed by the artist Jin Yucheng, as well as illustrations from “Blossoms.” Inspired by the sense of time during the development of Shanghai in the 20th century, the box’s design also allows it to be transformed into a lantern that showcases the illustrations from the novel “Red,” allowing each guest to experience a unique cultural charm.

The Michelin-starred restaurant Tong Fuk Hsuan’s executive chef Lee Chi Wai has carefully prepared a series of festive dim sum for the Year of the Snake, including “Abundance Every Year” fish dumplings with 18-year-old dried mandarin peel (HKD $98 for three) and “Wealthy Mantis Shrimp Dumplings” (HKD $128 for two). Each dish carries its own unique symbolic meaning, bringing blessings for the new year. In addition to dim sum, the restaurant also offers a Lunar New Year dinner set menu (starting at HKD $2,380 per person), featuring dishes such as “Success at Every Step” sea horse and dendrobium pearl abalone soup, and fish maw with luxurious shrimp, allowing guests to enjoy delicious food while feeling abundant blessings.

In addition, the glamorous Holt’s Cafe is also stepping up, launching a special New Year’s dish series, featuring the “Bowl Overflowing with Abundance” (HKD $680) and “Abundant Treasures” (HKD $280), which are must-try dishes symbolizing wealth and happiness. Other unique New Year dishes such as “Joyful Celebrations” Sweet and Sour Shrimp (HKD $388) and “Everlasting Prosperity” Guangxi Grouper (HKD $428) offer guests a distinctive culinary experience.

When it comes to an exquisite Lunar New Year afternoon tea experience, one cannot miss The Butterfly Room, priced at HKD $568 + 10% per person, available from now until February 11. The afternoon tea features appetizers like mini sandwiches made with butter pumpkin and beets, as well as a selection of desserts such as custard tarts and mille-feuille. To enhance the celebratory atmosphere, it can be paired with champagne or a variety of specially crafted desserts, making it a perfect choice for family gatherings or friendly get-togethers.

Chin Butterfly Patisserie has launched a luxurious Chinese New Year afternoon tea set (HKD $1,388), featuring four exquisite sandwiches, a daily selection of cakes, and scones, accompanied by a bottle of Parisian floral champagne, perfect for sharing between two to three people. In addition, Chin Butterfly has introduced several festive desserts, such as the kumquat and lime cheesecake (HKD $888/16cm) and hazelnut orange chocolate coins (HKD $218/6 pieces), which promise to bring endless delight whether enjoyed personally or given as gifts.
