E for Egg in Tai Wai has always been a popular coffee shop. Since moving to a new location in May last year, the light brown wooden decor elements are full of literary and artistic feelings. Recently, the café has added tatami seating, attracting a crowd of people coming to take photos!
Walking up to the attic in the store feels like entering another space, with soft white light coming through one side of the wall, along with bamboo blinds, small stones by the wall, small tea tables, creating a quiet and elegant atmosphere.
When you come here, of course you have to click on a series of signature foods. Among the savory dishes, the most popular is the “Scrambled Egg Box Toast” (starting at HK$55), which is filled with scrambled eggs and fillings in a cube-shaped toast. The outer layer of the toast is baked to crispy perfection, topped with cheese, and when sliced open, you will see plenty of fillings. Golden soft-shell crab, salmon, cheese pork fillet are all favorites among customers, and there are also limited-time flavors, such as Golden Pineapple Cheese Grilled Prawns.
The most popular dessert for people to check in is the “E for Egg Cheese Milk Cap Signature Waffle” (HK$88), turning the waffle into a small house, drizzling milk cap on the top layer, and adding an egg-shaped decoration, very cute.
There are many types of Japanese set meals, snacks, caramel egg pudding box toast, cakes, etc., so many choices! However, there are only 6 tatami seats, you can make a reservation in advance, and there are dining time restrictions, you can directly inquire with the store.
