On a scorching hot day, the best way to cool down is to eat some refreshing and juicy honeydew melon! Since the opening of the Japanese Omu-rice specialty store Grill Mantenboshi in Hong Kong at the end of last year, they are now hosting the “Shizuoka Melon Festival” from now until October 31. They are incorporating the Shizuoka melon, known as the “Green Flesh Melon appointed by the Japanese Imperial Family” and sweeter than regular honeydew melons, into various desserts!
The Grill Full of Stars limited edition melon dessert includes “Shizuoka Melon Buffet,” with crispy pistachio milk ice cream, paired with French melon puree, cream, mochi, and Shizuoka melon flesh, sweet and delicious. “Shizuoka Melon Waffle” with smooth milk ice cream, topped with French melon puree and breakfast cereals, and a whole slice of Shizuoka melon!
In addition, there is also “Shizuoka Melon Chiffon Cake”, made with Kagawa Prefecture Shodoshima olive oil, Japanese flour, and Japanese milk to create a lighter chiffon cake, paired with smooth cream, French melon puree, and Shizuoka melon, which is also Instagrammable!
