It is dedicated to promoting contemporary printmaking and preserving and inheriting local printing culture, while also facilitating international cultural exchange. This July, Hong Kong Print Studio will collaborate with British printmaker Ho Man Chun to hold her solo exhibition “Ho Man Chun: Never Forget, Never Lost” from July 15th to August 27th.

Although she followed her father’s wishes to study veterinary medicine at the University of Cambridge, she still pursued her own interest in art history. During her studies, she received a scholarship from the Japanese government to learn Mokuhanga, a traditional Japanese woodblock printing technique, and subsequently obtained a Master of Arts degree in printmaking from the Royal College of Art in the UK. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. Currently, she is pursuing a doctoral program at the University of West England in the UK.

“Mò shī mò wàng” showcases hundreds of memories from He Wenjin, some of which are beautiful and heartwarming, while others have left her disappointed, anxious, angry, and even sad. Regardless of whether the days are good or bad, He Wenjin confronts every moment in life through her artwork, capturing one memory after another with printmaking, ensuring that they are not forgotten with the passage of time. The printmaker then takes each paper artwork and inputs it into computer software, transforming the frozen stream of time and space into animated prints.

It is worth mentioning that most of the exhibits this time are color trial proofs, each with He Wenjin’s notes, which detailedly record the creative process of the printmaker’s paper and color selection, adding multiple perspectives for the audience to read and understand the works.
