Goodbye 2023, welcome 2024, Netflix and Disney+ are back with many exciting works, including Oscar-winning actress Yang Ziqiong’s new drama “Sun’s Brothers”, Park Hyeong-sik and Park Shin-hye’s collaboration in “The Valley Doctor”, Lee Dong-wook’s “The Killer’s Shopping Center”, and the highly anticipated second installment of Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee’s “City Monster”. All of them can be added to your must-watch list!
“The Sun Brothers”
The new dark comedy action film “Sun Brothers,” starring Oscar-winning actress Yang Ziqiong, Qian Yuyang, and Li Songpu, will exclusively premiere on Netflix on January 4th, 2023! The series tells the story of the eldest son of a major Taiwanese gang leader who is shot and killed, with the identity of the shooter remaining a mystery. The eldest son, Guowei (played by Qian Yuyang), worries about his mother, Eileen (played by Yang Ziqiong), who is in Los Angeles, and his younger brother, Bruce (played by Li Songpu), who has never experienced the world. He flies overseas to protect his family’s safety. It is not until his brother appears that Bruce realizes the “dark” history of their family.
And in Taipei, the underworld is not peaceful. The newly emerging gangs are fighting for territory, and when mortal enemies and old friends come knocking, Guowei and Bruce must quickly understand what true brotherhood and family mean in order to have a chance to turn the tide.
“Monster of the Capital” Season 1 Episode 2
The Netflix series “The Seoul Monster,” starring Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee, is definitely one of the most popular Korean dramas of 2023. In addition to the attention-grabbing lead actors, the plot combines elements of monsters, thrills, and romance, creating a tense and exciting atmosphere. “The Killer’s Shopping Center”

The drama is set in modern Korea and tells the story of a college student (played by Kim Hye-jun) who is targeted by a series of mysterious and highly skilled assassins. To escape the pursuit, she hides in her childhood home and seeks refuge. In order to survive, she begins to recall the teachings of her uncle, Jung Jin-wan (played by Lee Dong-wook), who had taken care of her after her parents’ death and suddenly “committed suicide.” She uses these valuable experiences to help herself escape from the predicament. However, as the situation worsens, Jung Ji-an, who is running out of options, must quickly uncover the hidden past of her uncle, understand why so many people are eager to enter the place she is in, and why there is a large collection of weapons stored inside the house…
“Financial Tycoon X Detective”
Starring An Bo-hyun and Park Ji-hoon, the new Korean crime comedy “Chaebol X Detective” from “Soft Cell Warriors” will exclusively premiere on Disney+ on January 26th. The collaboration between the two actors has once again raised anticipation among fans.
The series tells the story of Chen Li Shou (played by An Pu Xian), a wealthy second-generation police officer who has always relied on his family and only knows how to eat, drink, and have fun. Due to a “mistake” during an arrest, he is transferred to the Serious Crimes Unit of the Jianghe Police Station as a detective. Chen Li Shou, who has always done as he pleases, initially clashes with his department leader, Li Qiang Xian (played by Park Ji Hyun). However, as his new job and responsibilities become increasingly heavy, Chen Li Shou rises to the challenge and uses his immense wealth and powerful connections to overcome the blind spots of the police department, helping the Serious Crimes Unit solve major cases and bring criminals to justice.
“Doctor in the Doldrums”
The romantic comedy “Doctor Romantic” starring Park Hae-jin and Park Shin-hye will be available on Netflix on January 27th. In addition to being their first collaboration in 10 years, it is also Park Shin-hye’s first drama after giving birth, which is truly exciting! The story follows the rivalry between Lee Jung-yoo (played by Park Hae-jin) and Nam Ho-na (played by Park Shin-hye) during their high school days, and how they both become doctors and meet again during a low point in their lives. It is a story of revival for those who have hit rock bottom in life.

“The Enchanting One”
The new fictional costume drama “The Enchanting One” starring Cho Jung-seok from “Hospital Playlist” and Shin Se-kyung from “Bride of the Water God” will be available on Netflix on January 21st! Set in the Joseon Dynasty, the story revolves around King Lee In (played by Cho Jung-seok) who is caught in a crisis of power struggle, and the cruel love story between the spy Kang Hee-soo (played by Shin Se-kyung) who tries to deceive him for revenge but ends up being deceived herself.
“The Godmother of Poison Gate”
Netflix crime drama “Drug Lord” is produced and starred by Sofia Vergara. It will exclusively premiere on January 25th. Based on the true story of Griselda Blanco, it tells the story of a woman who embodies the roles of crime queen, innovator, mother, serial killer, and drug lord from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Griselda, with her three young sons and a kilogram of cocaine, escapes from Medellin to Miami and establishes a drug empire, becoming a ruthless leader.
“Echoes”
Marvel Studios’ latest work “Echo” will be exclusively available on Disney+ with all five episodes on January 10th! “Echo” – Maya Lopez (played by Alaqua Cox), who appeared in the series “Hawkeye,” makes a strong comeback!
