The all-new all-electric Mercedes-Benz G 580e Edition ONE makes its debut in Hong Kong.

During a grand event at the Chai Wan Brand Center on Hong Kong Island, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the all-new generation G-Class series, with the all-electric G 580e Edition ONE stealing the spotlight. This new model is equipped with a 116kWh lithium battery and four independent motors, boasting a maximum output of 587 horsepower and 1,164 Newton meters of torque, with a range of 491 kilometers (WLTP standard), starting at HKD 2,920,000. Orders are now being accepted, with delivery expected later this year.

Pine special built a giant 45-degree climbing device at the venue, showcasing the powerful off-road capabilities of the G-Class, with a G-Class history museum and classic car display area for guests to experience the legendary charm of the G-Class.

Pure Electric Version G 580e Edition ONE: The Perfect Combination of Performance and Innovative Technology

The all-new pure electric version G 580e Edition ONE has body dimensions of 4,624 x 1,931 x 1,986 millimeters, which are more than 200 millimeters shorter than the traditional G 500 and AMG G 63. However, the body width and height are similar, with a wheelbase of 2,890 millimeters and a weight of 3,085 kilograms. It comes standard with AMG Line body kit, exclusive 20-inch wheels, and blue brake calipers, with a unique spare tire design. Inside the cabin, there are blue decorative lines, dual 12.3-inch touchscreens, and the latest MBUX infotainment system. The G-ROAR feature can simulate different driving sounds, providing drivers with a rich sensory experience.

The G 580e Edition ONE features a lithium battery placed inside a trapezoidal frame, protected by a protective underbody made of carbon fiber composite material. Power is delivered by four independent motors directly through a drive shaft, so no differential lock is necessary; torque distribution is handled by an electronically controlled Torque-vectoring system. The new vehicle boasts three innovative features: G-TURN (pivot turn), G-STEERING (precise steering), and Intelligent Off-road Crawl, bringing exceptional off-road handling performance. With a ground clearance of 250 millimeters, water fording depth of 850 millimeters, capable of handling 45-degree slopes, and accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.7 seconds. The suspension system consists of front independent double wishbones and a rear Rigid De-Dion axle, along with a Low-range off-road-specific gearbox. The new car supports AC 11kW mid-speed charging and DC 200kW fast charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in 32 minutes and a range of 170 kilometers with a 15-minute charge.

Entry-level G 500 and high-performance Mercedes-AMG G 63 debut simultaneously

At the new car launch event, the other two new members of the G-Class series also received considerable attention. The all-new G 500 is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged engine, featuring 48V mild hybrid technology, with an output power of 449 horsepower and 560 Newton meters of torque. The mild hybrid system can provide an additional 20 horsepower and 200 Newton meters of torque. The new car comes with a 9-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and an intelligent four-wheel drive system, accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.4 seconds, with a combined fuel consumption of 10.9 to 12.3 liters per hundred kilometers, starting at HK$1,980,000. The special Adventure Package offers exclusive wheels, door sill step plates, and a rear tire carrier to emphasize personalized style.

The high-performance version Mercedes-AMG G 63 continues to use a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine, with 585 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. It also comes with a 48V mild hybrid system, providing an additional 20 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. Equipped with a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G automatic transmission and AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, it accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 220 kilometers per hour. The average fuel consumption is 14.7 to 15.7 liters per 100 kilometers. Through the Dynamic Select system, drivers can choose from four different driving modes and three off-road modes. Additional options include the Active Ride Control active body stabilization system and other exclusive accessories, with prices starting from HKD 3,194,000.
