Buying 8 brand new luxury cars at once, this collector even received special privileges from Bugatti?

When it comes to supercar collections, many car enthusiasts have heard of names like the renowned Ferrari collector David Lee from the United States or the well-known British supercar collector and seller Sheikh Amari, along with their private collections. Recently, a collector from France has gained a lot of media attention, mainly due to his Bugatti VIP collector status, and most importantly, the new cars he has recently added to his collection are extraordinary.

Although the media and Bugatti have not revealed the true identity of this collector, according to official information from the manufacturer, this collector is one of the few owners who receive exclusive services and treatment from the brand. Recently, this owner has purchased eight new cars firsthand, all personally delivered by Bugatti’s professional team. First of all, it must be understood that buying a Bugatti directly from the brand is different from the usual car buying process, as the brand conducts screening before any contact to ensure the identity of the buyer or potential owner. From this, it can be inferred that with a completely personalized service level, this collector is definitely not an ordinary person.

What model did this car owner buy that made Bugatti willing to deliver a new car at a discounted price? Quite interesting, because this collector “only” purchased two regular new cars from the brand, the rest are not the styles you would expect.

According to reports, this expert bought two regular car models to give gifts to his two children – it is reported that the two had previously been invited by Bugatti to visit its factory in Molsheim, northeast France – one is one of only 30 in the world, the Chiron Super Sport 300+ made in commemoration of the brand breaking the 300 km/h speed barrier, the other is more collectible, helping Bugatti set the world record for the fastest car in 2013 at a speed of 408.84 km/h, equipped with an 8.0L W16 engine and capable of outputting 1,183 horsepower, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition. The latter also comes with the official La Maison Pur Sang certificate to verify its unbeatable status.

So what are the other 6 new cars? If you guess from the picture, you should be very confused – unless you have read this report.

The answer is revealed! What this collector purchased is the reimagined version of the Baby II, which was created in 6 different colors as a toy car for the son of the founder of the car factory, Ettore Bugatti, in 1926 based on the classic model Type 35. The records show that this collector was allowed to purchase a total of six Baby II models in yellow, red, blue, green, white, and orange. Furthermore, these six Baby II models are the more luxurious Pur Sang versions made of aluminum.

Due to Bugatti Baby II series being a special production of the factory, it is considered a collector’s model. In terms of specifications, the size of Baby II is approximately 75% of the original version, equipped with a 2.8kW/hour battery, providing about 13.4 horsepower, and can still reach a top speed of 70 km/h. Additionally, it can be equipped with a short-range or long-range battery, the latter of which can provide a range of up to 49km while powering the rear wheels.

Although different from the “typical” Bugatti models, and with significant differences in speed and specifications, since this car is intended as a collector’s item, these six cars all have the same custom-grade high quality as Bugatti’s other products – all handcrafted, each taking over 200 hours to make, and the factory stated back in 2020 that only 500 units would be produced. As for the price? Official information indicates a price of $68,000 USD, but for this collector as a valued customer of Bugatti, the situation may be a bit different.
