After an 18-year hiatus, the legendary British band The Rolling Stones released their new album “Hackney Diamonds” and specially invited their friend Sir Paul Smith to design a limited edition vinyl record cover.
The inspiration for the album cover design comes from the album title “Hackney Diamonds,” which is slang for “broken glass,” and is presented with a dynamic effect through photo transfer printing. This technique also pays homage to Paul Smith, who was one of the first to use photo printing technology in clothing back in the 1980s.
In addition, to coincide with the release of vinyl records, Paul Smith has also designed a limited edition collection of cotton t-shirts, featuring album covers of the limited edition vinyl records, as well as graphic print designs incorporating the colorful striped Rolling Stones tongue logo.
