The development and breakthrough of Lamborghini, deconstructing 6 little-known pioneering achievements.

With Lamborghini’s recent important breakthroughs in various fields in recent years, the car manufacturer has further solidified its prominent position in the automotive industry, while also reinforcing its image of excellence and innovation.

In recent years, Lamborghini has achieved significant milestones in automotive technology and racing. Following the earlier release of the super SUV model Urus, Lamborghini conducted precise research on this iconic model. At the DaysofSpeed event in March of this year on the ice of Lake Baikal in Russia, despite challenging icy road conditions and strong gusts of wind, and with significantly reduced traction, it set a record for the 1,000-meter acceleration race with an average speed of 114km/h. With a top speed of 298km/h, it also set a record for SUV speed, which was certified by the RAF Russian Automobile Federation.

In addition, since Lamborghini introduced the Urus, it has created a new segment in the ultra-luxury car market, setting new goals in power, performance, driving dynamics, design, luxury, and daily practicality. With optional wheel sizes ranging from 21” to 23”, this super SUV becomes the first in the same segment to have wheels of the largest size, further establishing the uniqueness of the Urus in the market.

On the other hand, Lamborghini has also continuously achieved numerous successes in the prestigious international GT3 races. The manufacturer even won the 24 Hours of Daytona championship in 2018, 2019, and 2020, becoming the only car manufacturer in history to win this famous American endurance race for three consecutive years. Additionally, Lamborghini is the only car manufacturer to win both the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring for two consecutive years (2018 to 2019), and this remarkable achievement is what created Lamborghini’s legendary “Florida 36 Hours.”

When it comes to racing projects, it is impossible not to mention the significant developments in recent years by Lamborghini’s racing department Squadra Corse and Centro Stile design center. Among them, we must mention their masterpiece Essenza SCV 12 and its breakthrough carbon fiber monocoque shell without an integrated roll cage certified by the FIA. Regarding the research on #carbon fiber materials, Lamborghini had already collaborated with Northrop Grumman and the US National Laboratory in 2019, sending five different composite materials to the International Space Station (ISS) for carbon fiber material research. They analyzed the reaction of materials under extreme pressure in space, exploring their future applications in Lamborghini’s various models and the medical field, making the company the world’s first car manufacturer to conduct carbon fiber material research on the ISS.

To ensure that the car factory can clearly move forward in its sustainable development strategy, Lamborghini headquarters factory has been carbon neutral certified since 2015, and in recent years has expanded its production base to 160,000 square meters to maintain this achievement. In recent years, Lamborghini has led the factory with the vision of “Direzione Cor Tauri” (meaning: moving towards the heart of Taurus), implementing a comprehensive development plan covering product strategy, the Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters factory, production lines, and offices. In addition to supporting general car development and racing, Lamborghini also provides special support to designated locations. For example, last December, the Italian police used the Huracán model as a police car and was assigned to urgently transport a kidney for transplant from Padua to the Gemelli University Hospital in Rome. During the process, the Huracán reached an average speed of 233 km/h, reducing the normal driving time of five hours and 489 kilometers to just over two hours, once again demonstrating the extraordinary efficiency of its performance.

Since 2017, the Huracán police car has been appointed as a member of the Italian highway patrol team, used for patrol, rescue, and medical transport services. The car features a police blue body color with white accents, using supercar body fonts and dynamic designs, with a tricolor stripe running on each side of the body. The main task of the Huracán police car is medical assistance, for which the front trunk is equipped with special refrigeration equipment for emergency transport of organs. In case of emergency rescue, a defibrillator device is also provided. This fully reflects Lamborghini’s recognition and versatility in the automotive field.

As for what is worth noting, as electric vehicles gradually become popular in different car categories, Lamborghini recently welcomed its first electric vehicle model, the Sián FKP 37, confirming that electric vehicles will usher in another era. Will Lamborghini’s future development incorporate this element? Will the hybrid generation expand beyond the development of SUV models? Let’s wait and see!
