Many hipsters have been going to the popular Tsuen Wan South Factory to take photos recently. In collaboration with agnès b., they have transformed old items into The Dancing Cloak, a giant Christmas art installation, adding to the festive atmosphere while also promoting environmental sustainability!
The Dancing Cloak takes agnès b.’s 2022 winter cloak as a blueprint and draws inspiration from the arc of the aurora borealis. It is made from donated recycled clothes and fabrics from agnès b. and Nan Fung Textiles, and the production process is specially handled by a local art institution, Rén Gòu Shā. Through twisting and braiding techniques, over 500 pieces of clothing are transformed into 80 colorful fabric ropes, which are then tied to a frame to create a floating Christmas installation art. It presents different beauty from different angles.
The underground textile factory at Nan Fung Textile Mill also has an exhibition with a theme of sustainability. As soon as you enter the exhibition area, you can see Agnès’ handwritten sentence “For the love of the planet,” echoing the exhibition’s environmental theme. The exhibition is divided into three areas, including the “Nan Fung Textile Mill Story Zone,” the “agnès b. Brand Story Zone,” and the “agnès b. Sustainable Development Practice Zone.” Everyone is encouraged to take a closer look at the exhibition and learn about environmental concepts.
On the first floor of Nan Fung Textile Factory, there is a temporary agnès b. Delice store, offering French desserts and chocolates.
