Burberry announced the appointment of Daniel Lee as Creative Director in September last year, which has been highly anticipated. Finally, his first 2023 fashion collection show, which he is in charge of, officially debuted.
The fashion show took place in Kensington Park, with each seat pre-set with a plaid blanket and a hot water bottle. British designer Daniel Lee intentionally combined British culture, customs, and fashion in this show, incorporating elements such as countryside style, punk, roses, and ducks in the park.
The trench coat has always been a brand DNA, and Daniel Lee interprets it this time with a more modern cutting silhouette and details, including a wide trench coat with a faux fur collar, creatively tailored mid-length coats, softly tailored horn button coats, and pilot jackets. The combination of pleated Scottish skirts with long pants, Aran Island knits, and thick sweaters with multi-color diamond patterns highlights the British cultural theme of this collection.

One of the highlights of this season is the bold and eye-catching use of colors. In addition to the already introduced “royal blue,” there are also dark green, deep red, mustard yellow, indigo purple, and other colors that run through the collection, giving a fresh interpretation to classic plaid and horse knight patterns. There are also artistic patterns such as roses and ducks, which are applied to different styles of suits, blanket coats, and knitted sweaters.
In addition, the series is further enhanced with small accessories that add a lot of humor and fun. The models wearing formal attire with a big furry hat on their heads and a handbag with a fluffy tail, one of them wearing a handmade duck-shaped hat, and each model holding a hot water bottle in their hands, all of which have sparked a lot of discussion.
In terms of shoe styles, the brand draws inspiration from functional designs, including traditional leather and suede equestrian boots and rubber rain boots. Sneakers are interpreted with an oversized silhouette. Iconic square-toed sandals, mules, and high heels are crafted in faux fur and sheepskin for a relaxed look.
