The pandemic has dragged down the fashion industry, but it has not affected the forward momentum of CHANEL. The brand held a physical show for the 2021 Métiers d’art collection in the early hours of December 4th Hong Kong time, engaging in creative dialogue with craftsmen through their ingenious craftsmanship, using fashion to continue conveying a spirit of hope, bringing everyone an unforgettable visual feast!
Virginie Viard chose to hold this haute couture workshop series at the Château de Chenonceau, located on the banks of the Loire River in France. The castle is filled with Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles, along with its unique historical background, it has many commonalities with the brand. Due to the pandemic, this presentation only had one front row guest, and this lucky person, who is deeply loved by Virginie Viard, is her longtime brand friend Kristen Stewart!
The fashion show took place in the “Royal Gallery” of the castle, where the outfit that came out echoed the black and white checkered pattern of the floor. A black and white sequined mini skirt paired with a detailed short jacket, along with shiny gray and light pink leggings, exuded a sense of youthful fashion.
After the young girl style, there is a series of designs with relatively calm colors, with a tweed jacket in black, white, and berry tones paired with a predominantly blue floral long skirt, showcasing an intellectual and mature temperament. Following that, there are even more powerful long coats, with a simple and neat one-piece design inside, paired with black gloves as embellishments, making the female model transform into a chic and independent woman!
At the end of the press conference, there were several sets of visually appealing and classic black and white evening gowns. The sheer black lace dress, with its flattering off-the-shoulder cut that showcases the alluring collarbones, elevates the noble and elegant feminine charm infinitely. As for the most classic black and white mixed evening gown, Virginie Viard cleverly combines materials of different weights, along with eye-catching waist chain details, to bring a sense of balance and beauty to the contrasting black and white look, while also showcasing the brand’s exquisite craftsmanship to the fullest.
