Prada 2021 Spring/Summer Collection: Miuccia Prada, Raf Simons Meet and Spark Creativity

To count the biggest highlight of this year’s Milan Fashion Week, it must be Raf Simons taking over Prada as co-creative director with Miuccia Prada for their first collaborative collection! Due to the impact of the pandemic, the show did not invite any guests to attend, and the presentation was fully streamed online. Later on, Miuccia Prada appeared on stage with Raf Simons to answer questions that fans had submitted earlier, giving both designers the opportunity to personally explain the design concepts and collaborative sparks of the collection.

The entire collection features 40 pieces, incorporating a large number of design elements commonly used by Raf Simons into Miuccia Prada’s signature elegant, clean, and cohesive clothing silhouettes. These elements include: modern patterns, abstract prints, cut-out knits, text slogans, futuristic minimalist style, and irregular cuts. It perfectly balances the personal styles of both Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, without favoring one over the other, making it a collaborative design series that fans of both sides will nod in agreement with.

The most eye-catching highlight of the series is undoubtedly the brand’s iconic inverted triangle logo. Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons have enlarged this logo, commonly seen in accessories and handbags in the past, and incorporated it into the core of the entire look. Whether it’s a vest, t-shirt, jumpsuit, or pointed shoes, you can also find the shadow of this logo.

The encounter of two different design styles in the 2020 Spring/Summer collection brings surprises without any sense of discord. Redefining simple and elegant women’s fashion, it presents exquisite and high-quality designs. Just completed the new series release, it has already made people look forward to the next season of the two designers’ creations!
