Bottega Veneta Resort 2021: Combining avant-garde design with a minimalist style, bursting with freshness in the minimalist style.

Creative Director Daniel Lee can definitely be described as the “elixir” that has revived the old fashion house Bottega Veneta. After taking over BV, he carried out reforms boldly, washing away the brand’s mature and steady image of the past, and reinfusing it with a minimalist style. This successful transformation has propelled BV to become one of the favorite fashion brands in the eyes of fashion enthusiasts in the past year.

This young designer, who has repeatedly created It Bags and swept four major awards at The Fashion Awards last year, is already well-known in the fashion industry. However, he certainly won’t stop and rest on his laurels, continuing to seek new patterns in minimalist style. Recently, he also presented the Bottega 2021 early spring resort collection, showcasing how he interprets a different minimalist style.

“During this darkest time, creativity and innovation are especially important. If we don’t create clothing that other brands can’t find, what’s the point?” Daniel Lee held this idea when designing this series, so how did he embody this persistence? The answer can be found in the avant-garde and exaggerated designs and silhouettes of the clothing: oversized puffy sleeves with cinched waists, jackets, wide-legged pants with a sense of drape, and weighty plush scarves all show his exploration of shapes and cuts, interpreting the infinite possibilities of clothing patterns. This prevents the entire collection from being monotonous and makes it more interesting.

Perhaps you may find the above-mentioned items difficult to control, but there is no need to worry because the rest of the collection still retains Daniel Lee’s love for clean lines in women’s clothing. Knit suits with fringed skirts, slim-cut shoulder-cut dresses, and streamlined coats all highlight the sleek and concise design style. In addition, the collection is not lacking in interesting design elements, such as the full knot details on the dresses and the human figure pattern prints, adding a unique freshness to the entire collection.

Additionally, the diverse use of colors is also a major focus. The series is like a color palette, with light purple, emerald green, deep red, bright yellow, and chocolate brown appearing on items such as shirts, leather jackets, and pointed loafers, creating a rich visual effect. Paired with soft materials that emphasize comfort, this season’s collection becomes a “healing series” that is full of homely feelings and brings joy to the mood.

Of course, as the “It Bag manufacturing machine” of the season, handbags are the most indispensable item. Daniel Lee combines the “V” element in “Veneta” with the brand’s iconic weaving craftsmanship to create a tote bag; and incorporates the “V” into the design of the bag’s handles. In addition, the hollow fan-shaped handbag and the petite pentagon handbag also reflect Daniel Lee’s pursuit of diverse handbag silhouettes, with a great chance of becoming part of the It Bag list in the future!
