Sacai, led by Chitose Abe, is gaining more and more momentum! Some believe that the collaboration with NIKE has greatly increased Sacai’s popularity. In fact, Chitose Abe’s bold deconstructive design, which subverts traditional tailoring, brings infinite possibilities.
Just recently unveiled at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, the debut haute couture collection in collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier, sacai has now released its first collaboration with KAWS. This collaboration stems from the mutual admiration and friendship between Chitose Abe and KAWS, incorporating KAWS’ original artwork and color palette as “wearable art” and reflecting it in sacai’s creations.
The collection features vibrant Multi-Colour and Camouflage as the main color schemes, hiding KAWS’ iconic “X” within the patterns, presented on unisex pieces such as men’s wear, women’s wear, as well as t-shirts and hoodies. In addition, there is also a children’s wear line, including jackets, dresses, shirts, t-shirts, and bibs for boys and girls, both delicate and playful.
sacai x KAWS’s first collaboration series will be released globally on July 16. The Hong Kong pop-up store is located at BELOWGROUND in Hong Kong Landmark.
