Rolex will launch a series of new watches in 2024, including the new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 and Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36, both showcasing exquisite dial designs. The new Day-Date 40 features a gradient dial for the first time. The 18K Everose gold model features a gradient slate gray dial, creating a delicate transition between the colored center and the deep black edges. Additionally, the gradient dial of the Day-Date 40 is adorned with 18K pink gold hour markers and a combination of faceted Roman numerals for the first time. The concentric gradient dial presentation showcases the black lacquer craftsmanship, meticulously completed under the supervision of professional craftsmen to ensure a harmonious transition from the coloring effect to the dark tones.
The second Day-Date 40 new model is crafted in 18K white gold, paired with a mother-of-pearl dial with a pearl white sheen. The use of this natural material in the Day-Date 40 is a first. The mother-of-pearl is taken from the precious part of the shell of a pearl oyster, showcasing intricate structures, with irregular patterns resembling layers of tiny clouds, creating a deep three-dimensional effect. Each material used to make the mother-of-pearl dial is carefully selected to ensure harmonious patterns and iridescent effects, while optimizing the placement angle of the dial to enhance its excellent luster. This watch is adorned with 10 square diamond hour markers, making the mother-of-pearl dial shine even more under its reflection. The new Day-Date 36 features a combination of engraved Roman numerals and engraved hour markers, a design previously only seen on the Day-Date 40. The new Day-Date 36 is made of 18K yellow gold, with a white lacquered dial, adorned with smooth and shiny classic geometric-shaped hour markers. Each component is individually crafted in a special workshop, going through at least seven processes before being finally assembled on the dial.
The 18K Everose gold Day-Date 36 for the first time uses a blue-green dial, adorned with 10 square diamonds. The blue-green dial was introduced in 2023 and is featured on the Sky-Dweller watch. This dial presents a deep three-dimensional texture, complemented by an outer ring set with 60 trapeze-cut diamonds, adding even more brilliance. The Day-Date 40 and Day-Date 36 are equipped with the cutting-edge 3255 movement, accurately displaying hours, minutes, seconds, day, and date. Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 and Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 are both certified as top astronomical observatory chronometers, ensuring outstanding performance when worn.
