Since its establishment in 1755, Jaeger-LeCoultre has a deep connection with art. The long-term collaboration with The MET is a new direction for Jaeger-LeCoultre to continue supporting, participating, and learning from artistic communities. The collaboration will include various projects focusing on sustainable culture and art preservation, including artist residency programs and other educational initiatives. The first unveiled project is an extension of the “A Masterpiece on your Wrist program.” Launched in 2019, the “A Masterpiece on your Wrist” program provided connoisseurs with a unique opportunity to customize a one-of-a-kind watch, with the dial featuring enamel painting inspired by masterpieces from top museums around the world. Through the collaboration with The MET, the brand will expand this service, offering more iconic and world-renowned artworks for customers to choose from.
To fully illustrate this vision, Jaeger-LeCoultre and The Metropolitan Museum of Art have launched four designs showcasing masterpieces from The MET’s collection in “Masterpiece on your Wrist,” including Van Gogh’s “Wheat Field with Cypresses,” Monet’s “Japanese Footbridge over the Water Lily Pond,” Winslow Homer’s “Northeaster,” and Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ “Diana.” As part of the “Masterpiece on your Wrist” experience, participants will have the opportunity to privately tour The MET with experts and guides, assist in selecting artworks, visit Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmaking factory in Geneva to meet the watchmaking masters and craftsmen responsible for the project. Finally, a unique timepiece is born, accompanied by an authentication certificate from the museum and Jaeger-LeCoultre, reflecting taste and passion, allowing one to savor this extraordinary masterpiece every day.
